| Description | Field 19A on Collingham and Compton A. In the absence of other documentary or literary evidence, and indeed of a known spring in the area, classification as a Holy Well is rather tenuous. Old WYAS SMR cards 4434839900 and 4434839815 record the name Hollowell at grid refs. SE 3890 4390 and SE 3891 4385 respectively. The grid reference cited above is centred on field 19A. The wood at SE 3885 4485 is known as Lady Wood, but not so named on O.S. 6 189. |
