TitleCoin Hoard, Thorpe-on-the-Hill
DescriptionSmall hoard of coins. Nineteen were recovered, eleven denarii and eight AE 1 and AE 2. Issues of Vespasian, Titus, Domitian, Nerva, Trajan and Hadrian (A. D. 69 138.) Found in 1902 at Thorpe on the Hill, in a quarry belonging to Pawson Bros., about eighteen inches below the surface. Exact find spot unknown; grid ref. centred on quarry. A considerable number may have been discarded before they were recognised as coins; present location of the remainder unknown.
