TitleRoman coin, near Shipley Glen
DescriptionSestertius of Volusian (A.D. 252 254.) Obverse: IMP CAE C. VIB VOLUSIANO AUG.; diademed and draped bust, right. Reverse: LIBERALITAS AVGG.; liberality, standing left, holding tessera and cornucopia. Mint of Rome. Found in 1950 on the western slope of Baildon Moor, between Shipley Glen and Dobrudden Farm. Exact find spot unknown; grid ref. centred on Dobrudden Farm. In Cartwright Memorial Hall Museum.

It has been suggested by Derek Barker (Uni of Bradford Mature Archaeology Student) that this Roman coin record may be a duplicate of PRN 1769 (see email dated 22/05/2013). As such, this record should be treated with caution.
