DescriptionDenarius of the Republic, issue of Marcus Tullius (ca.156 134 B.C.) Found in 1947 in a quarry at Wrose by a schoolboy. Obverse: head of Roma. Reverse: figure of Victory in a four horse chariot. Exact find spot unknown; there are two quarries at Wrose: a 'Catstone Quarry' centred on grid ref. cited and a shale quarry at SE 1605 3740. In Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley, acc.no.24/51.
