TitleStone Axe, Foxholes
DescriptionPolished stone axe found by a member of public. Find spot is approximate; the axe was apparently found 2'6 below the surface during the excavation of footings for the pit head baths at Fox Pit. The axe was given to Leeds City Museum on 18.2.1948 by the finder (n.b. there is some confusion re. the accession no.; two are cited on the O.S. card:13.1948 and D.139.1964).
