Title | Weardley |
Description | Weardley, enumerated as a vill in 1086, now comprises an extensive farm complex at High Weardley (SE 2969 4462 and area) and a few cottages 100m. to the north at Low Weardley (SE 296 447 and SE 297 447). May never have been one nucleated settlement. 1st. edn. 6 O.S. map shows layout similar to present. The c.1730 map of Harewood apparently shows a plan of Weardley town. |
