TitleMean Park
DescriptionThe names Mean Park and Mean Park Bottom (latter at SE 2934 4652, old antiq. no. 4424963542) recorded in 1794 but not noted in EPNS. If mean is conjectured to derive from (ge)maene, this could refer to a common park or enclosure for animals. As such it would be likely to be of medieval date and to be bounded possibly by bank and ditch. (Formerly (pre April 1993) in W.Yorks).
