TitleMill Field
DescriptionThis field name of 1698 lies strictly in Adel cum Eccup but adjacent to the Towhouses area of Harewood. Any mill to which it may refer, if a water mill, may lie on either side of the township boundary. There is no supporting documentaion for a mill here in antiquity and the area is now heavily landscaped. Watching brief on pipeline which traversed the area in 1970s produced nothing relevant and the stream itself is canalised as part of the park landscape. This field name may in fact refer to works associated with Wigton Mill (PRN 1362) c. 500 m. to the south east.
