DescriptionTwo Bronze Age cremation urns were found in 1949 in Rothwell by a Mr. Ledger. The urns were said to be in Leeds City Museum by the O.S. field investigator (date of his report, 15/03/1963). Neither urn could be traced in the museum by another O.S. field investigator, R.Lewis (date of his report, 19/11/1963). However, the urns had been allocated a museum accession number (47.1949) and were recorded as having been found on May 2nd,1949.
