TitleHough End, Pudsey
DescriptionUrn found in a stone quarry at Hough End in December, 1879. From the vague antiquarian description, it would appear that this was a cremation, as it was described as containing `calcined bones'. The vessel was broken and `placed on a dish shaped hollow, some two or three feet deep, with charcoal and burnt earth...'. No knowledge of present whereabouts of the urn.
