TitleLee Hill
DescriptionOne of 2 barrows marked as tumuli on the 25 O.S. map. They lie SE of a so called `camp' (PRN 2209) on Lee Hill which has been much destroyed by quarrying and cultivation. The O.S. field investigator reported after a field visit on 08/ 01/1961 that the barrows could not be seen on the ground and that there was no other evidence of further burial mounds in the vicinity. The O.S. record was updated on 10/12/1964 when it was stated that the site (presumably the `camp') had been further reduced by cultivation and was unintelligible.
After their visit to the site of the camp in 1975, REY and MLF reported that the site was virtually destroyed by quarrying and was down to rough grazing, also that the plateau on top was flat and that there were no apparent earthworks or signs of quarrying.
