TitleCoin Hoard, Silver Hills
DescriptionBogg reports a vessel with vast number of silver coins ploughed up more than 100 years ago in field now called Silver Hills. O.S. Field Inspector reports (1963) no confirmation found and whereabouts of coins unknown; suggests possible confusion with medieval hoard (PRN 1320) found at Wike 1.4 km to SW. An annotation on the old WY SMR copy of the O.S. card indicates that the hoard is Roman but no source or reason given for this change. If Roman then the proximity of the possible villa site at Biggin (PRN 1318), 300 m. to WSW, is pertinent.
