Title | Pit Alignment |
Description | Cropmarks of short length of pit alignment running NNW SSE between an area of round barrows and a henge (PRN 1296) to the east and an area of rectilinear fields (PRN 1290) to the west. This may be a continuation of the pit alignment to the south east (PRN 994) and together they may demarcate the barrow area from the rectilinear fields. Like PRN 994, the pits are more rectangular than round; their line is continued southwards by a modern hedgeline. Immediately east of the southern end of the pit alignment is a trapezoidal arrangement of four pits, each more rounded in shape and of unknown date and function. |
