DescriptionThree field names, High Tarn Close (SE 1918 4621, old antiq. no. 4414961281), Middle Tarn Close (refs. cited above), and West Tarn Close (SE 1898 4595, old antiq. no.4414859985). Indicative of natural open water on or near the area possible that there were once open pools between here and the river Wharfe on the area of the Newall Gravel Pits site. If so, these are potential sites for recovery of palaeo environmental evidence relating to the prehistoric (Neolithic) activity on the Newall site (PRN 1348)
