Title | Bullace Trees, Warley |
Description | Bullace Trees, Warley. Stone laithe house part dated to 1851 but containing timber cruck frame of possible earlier origins. Bullace Trees was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. The photographic images produced by the assessment are held by WYAAS (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. The brief fieldwork notes are transcribed below: 'Stone laithe house, part dated to 1851. Low out building to the south east has a single cruck truss. Curved blades on high stylobates. Tie beam halved over. Collar halved just below apex. No sign that the truss belonged to a timber framed structure'. (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. 'Warley. Bullace Trees'). |
