(Extract from English Heritage listed building description. Date listed 03/11/1954. http://list.english heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1258150. Web site accessed 07/01/2013).

Booth Steads was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. Giles also produced a photographic image of the house attributed to 1982. This is held by WYAAS. The 1980 fieldwork record sheets is summarised below:
'Stone house. 17th century with 19th century alterations. There is a continuous outshut at the rear. House is built of rubble masonry, quoined at the angles. On the south front the ground floor windows are 19th century but on the first floor they are original: they have flush splayed mullions. External features suggest a hearth passage plan: a 19th century doorway to the south is matched by an opposing door in the north wall: this doorway has an original chamfered surround and is sheltered by a single storey porch. To the east of the passage lies the housebody, and to the east of that is the parlour heated by an external stack. The west cell is unheated.
The interior was not inspected'.
(Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. 'Warley. Booth Steads').

WYAAS archives holds photographic images of Booth Steads produced by Peter Thornborrow (WYAS) in 1996 (Thornborrow, P. (WYAS). 1996).
