Description | 133 Carr Moor Side, Hunlset. Dismantled 17th timber framed house wing (around SE 30400 31090). D.J.M. Michelmore, reporting in the Council for British Archaeology Forum in 1985, described the surviving bay of a 17th century timber framed parlour wing at 133 Carr Moor Side as dismantled and in the care of Leeds City Council at Kirkstall Brewery (Michelmore, D.J.M. 1985). A 1998 correspondence from Steve Hunt (Leeds City Council, Assistant Director, Parks and Countryside) to David Michelmore (Buildings Conservation Services) placed the 133 Carr Moor side timbers and the timbers from two other timber framed buildings in storage facilities at Thorpe Barn, Almondury, Huddersfield. In 2006 David Michelmore expressed an interest in reusing the timbers. WYAAS suggested that a detailed recording and dendrochronological dating of the timbers be a pre requisite for their release (Constable, C. (Senior Historic Buildings Officer. WYAAS). 2006). The former position of 133 Carr Moor Side could not be firmly ascertained. The grid reference presented in the CBA report was incorrect. Parts of the road have been obliterated by the M621 motorway and an industrial estate. The ‘Leodis’ photographic archive of Leeds holds images of properties at 125 127 Carr Moor Side adjacent to the former Dartmouth Square which was identified at SE 30412 31066 on historic OS mapping. As the house numbers appear to increase towards the north, this places no 133 either on the Dartmouth Square or in the position of Child's Farm to the immediate north (http://www.leodis.net/.
