Description | 21, Brooklands Road, Walton. 1920 council house. 21, Brooklands Road was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Lucy Caffyn in 1982 as part of the WYAS/RCHME workers Housing Survey. The photographic images and sketch plan produced by the assessment are held by WYAAS. The brief field work notes are transcribed below: 'c.1920 built for council; bought by Sharlston Colliery. Returned to council 1974/5. Brick; 1st floor rendered; slate roof; windows wooden framed. Spacious well planned; three bedrooms and bath room; kitchen, living room and parlour; outside WC; coal cellar. Semi detached'. (Caffyn, L. (WYAS/RCHME). 1982). |
