Property on Wentworth Street, Margaret Street and St John's Square was the subject of a planning application in 1994 for 'New school accommodation; conversion change of use of dwellings to school accommodation and flats; new flats; parking and ancillary works' (Wakefield council planning reference number 93/99/24900/K/J/H). The architect's drawings, which depict 5 7 Wentworth Street, 1 St John's Square and 8 10 Margaret Street are held by WYAAS (HLM Architects. 1994).

Philip Swan (WYAS) made an archaeological assessment of 15 Wentworth Street in 1997. Swan identified a feature on the ceiling behind the face of the chimney breast in the lounge [curved architrave between a ceiling beam and the chimney breast]. The elevation and section drawing of the features is accompanied by a note to Peter Thornborrow asking for suggestions as to nature of the feature. Suggestions were not identified in WYAAS archives.
