Title | Geophysical Survey on land off Royds Lane, Rothwell |
Description | In June 2012 Phase Site Investigations undertook a geophysical survey on land off Royds Lane, Rothwell. The proposed development site was approximately 3.6 hectares in total, however due to the presence of historic open cast mining, the central part of the site did not require surveying. In other parts of the site dense vegetation also restricted survey coverage, meaning that approximately on 1.6 hectares were surveyed. The majority of the anomalies identified related to agricultural practice including possible ridge and furrow ploughing running south west to north east. All other responses were thought to be modern or geological in nature. For further detail please see the full report (Phase Site Investigations, 2012), a copy of which is on file in the HER. |
