TitleHock Cliff, Warley
DescriptionGrotto Terrace, Warley. Late 18th to early century 19th century cottage.

WYAAS archives holds a photographic images of Grotto Terrace and adjacent Hock Cliff (Farm?). They are associated with the WYAS/RCHME Workers' Housing Survey possibly taken during an archaeological assessment by Lucy Caffyn c.1981.
Hock Cliff is depicted as a stone built, two storey and two unit cottage (or pair of single unit cottages) with a stone built shed/outshut attached to the western end. There are two rows of multi light windows to each floor suggesting an element of domestic textile production. The roof ridge chimney is situated at the division between the two units. The photographic images also depicted a five light square mullioned window taken from the interior. This may be a depiction from inside this cottage (may also be unrelated). This range is named Hoyle in 1850 (OS 6' 1st edition. 1850. Sheet 230).
Grotto Terrace is the subject of a separate record: PRN 13222.
