Upper Green Edge was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. Giles describes the building as a stone house originating in the second half of the 18th century enlarged c.1800. There may be reused windows to the rear.
