Description | Shepherd House, Warley. Stone house dated 1746 with earlier masonry. Shepherd House was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. The photographic images produced by the assessment are held by WYAAS. The brief fieldwork report is transcribed below: 'Stone house dated 1746. Remains of earlier masonry evident on west gable; outshut form. Rebuilt 1746 by Thomas Lister (famous Halifax clock maker), with two cell, double pile'. (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. 'Warley.
