TitleNewlands Gate, Warley
DescriptionNewlands Gate, Warley. Row of mid to late 18th century cottages.

Newlands Gate was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. The photographic image produced by the assessment is held by WYAAS. In the brief fieldwork record card Giles described this as a row of four cottages and suggests a date of 1768. They are built or coursed rubble masonry, flush square mullions and square surrounds. The date is suggested by deeds which mention that South Clough Head and four cottages in Lower Nab Field, although the masonry suggests a later date (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980).
