TitleBarn to West of LowerField Bottoms Farmhouse, Shelf
DescriptionBarn, built in the mid 17th century. Constructed of hammer dressed stone with unmortared, stone slate roof. There is a continuous aisle to the west and a ½ aisle of 2 bays only to the east. There is a square headed cart entry with harr hung doors with oak structure and renewed softwood panels. Fine post and truss construction. 5 bays of queen strut roof the ridge set diagonally. Gable with arrows slit ventilators and others in all external walls. The barn is located to the West of the separately listed Lower Field Bottoms Farmhouse (PRN; 13164)

The barn was visited by Peter Thornborrow on behalf of West Yorkshire Archaeology Services in 1988(?), only one photograph of the roof trusses is held on file with no accompanying notes.
