Title | Laithe House at Low, Warley |
Description | Laithe House at Low, Warley. c.1800 The three houses at Low were the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. The brief accompanying notes describe a three cell house and a two cell house of c.1780 date and a c.1800 laithe house. There are three houses and a 'barn' in a group at the position provided by Giles. The location of the laithe house is tentatively suggested as being the house with a linear plan and attached barn on Low Lane to the north of the group (https://maps.google.co.uk/. Web site accessed 15/01/2014). The other two houses to the south of the group are depicted on the photographic image which accompanies the fieldwork notes (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980). |
