TitleHouse at Low (Lowe Farm), Warley
DescriptionHouse at Low, Warley. Late 18th century house.

The three houses at Low were the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAAS/RCHME Rural Houses Survey. The house which is the subject of this record is included on the single photograph produced by this assessment. The image depicts two adjacent houses, the house associated with this record is interpreted as the smaller house on the left hand side of the image (Giles, C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. Image held by WYAAS). The brief accompanying notes describe a two cell house of c.1780, interpreted as this house. The two other houses in the group are described as a three cell house which is possibly the larger house depicted to the right of the photograph and a laithe house which is not depicted but may be the laithe house on Low Lane to the immediate north (PRN 13148 and PRN 13149).
This information may be spurious, however, as the building on the left hand side of the image, although it looks like a late 18th century house, is not included on mid 19th century mapping (OS 6' 1st edition. 1849. Sheet 215).
