TitleLittle Longbottom Farm, Warley
DescriptionLittle Longbottom Farm, Warley. Late 18th to early 19th century weavers cottages and a mid 18th century farmhouse.

Little Longbottom Farm was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Colum Giles in 1980 as part of the WYAS/RCHME Rural House Survey. The photographic images produced by the assessment are held by WYAAS. The brief fieldwork notes are transcribed below:
'Stone house mid 18th century. Three cell plan, linear. Thin coursed rubble masonry. Remains of flush splayed mullions in windows. Rear wing behind central cell original?'.
(Giles C. (WYAS/RCHME). 1980. 'Warley. Little Long Bottom').

Attached to the eastern end of the house described above is a two storey cottage (with attic with a double depth plan. The roof is gabled. The gables wall are on the south east and north west sides of the house. Fossilised quoining at mid point on the south east elevation indicates an earlier phase of construction possibly associated with the mid 18th century house described above. There are two single light and two double light windows on this elevation on the northern end of the wall only, including a loft light window. A ground floor doorway is situated in the middle. Attached to the north western gable wall is the earlier house with a lower roof line and a single storey outshut. There are also two internal chimney stacks situated on this gable.
On the south western elevation there is a five light window on the ground floor with a matching window on the first floor. All openings, as far as can be ascertained, have flush mullions and surrounds. These features indicates the building's use as a domestic workshop probably of late 18th to early 19th century origin.
