DescriptionHolme Farm (farm house), Holme Lane, Tong. Late 17th to early 18th century stone barn.

'Late C17 or early C18 farmhouse, irregularly coursed gritstone. Large flush quoins. Renewed stone slate roof. Three window road front, originally 5 light chamfered mullion in splayed reveals, most of mullions now removed, or made into 2 lights with later square mullion. External chimney breast (stack lopped) at west end with flush quoining. Full width rear outshut. Squared jamb doorway'.

Holme Farm on Holme Lane, Tong was the subject of an archaeological assessment by Peter Thornborrow (WYAS) c.1987. The photographic images produced by the assessment are held by WYAAS. This assessment may have been undertaken in response to a planning application affecting the barn at Holme Farm in 1987 (Bradford Council planning reference number 87/08/05935. ‘Conversion of existing barn to house and garage and remove derelict outbuilding’). The barn is treated as a separate record. See PRN 12798.
