TitleStone Gatepiers to Church House, Boston Spa
DescriptionThree examples of relict stone gateposts some of which are partly hidden within hedgerows in the southern section of Leys Lane. The location of the gateposts matches the former location of entrances into strip fields (BSHAG 2013). Some of these gateposts exist as pairs and some exist as single gateposts where entrance have been widened. The gate piers are suggested to be 18th century in date with 19th century alterations.
The Gate posts are included on the Boston Spa Archaeology and Heritage Group's Heritage List which will be incorporated into the Boston Spa Parish Council's Neighbourhood Plan and identified for preservation.
