Wheat Ing was the subject of an archaeological assessment by the Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society in 1975 as part of the Joint Survey of Buildings for Proposed Listing. The fieldwork record sheet is held by WYAAS. Named 'Weet' Ing on record sheet. In addition to providing a brief description, the report considered that the chamfered mullion windows were unusual in a house of this period (Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society. 1975).
