Description | Crimsworth Dean Wesleyan School (later a chapel), Wadsworth. Dated 1865. The Crimsworth Dean Wesleyan School was the subject of an archaeological assessment by the Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society in 1975 as part of the Joint Survey of Buildings for Proposed Listing. The fieldwork record sheet is held by WYAAS. The field work record sheet describes the Sunday school as dating to 1865 [date stone]. It was in use as a Methodist chapel at the time of survey. The walls are of pitched stone and the roof is of stone slate. The windows are rectangular [single light with three bays on long side elevations] with six panes. There is one central pedimented doorway at the front [north] gable end. There is a single chimney occurring as a ridge stack in the southern gable. The plan form is rectangular.
