Description | Ibbotroyd House, Wadsworth. Mid 19th century double pile house. Ibbotroyd House was the subject of an archaeological assessment by the Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society in 1977 as part of the Joint Survey of Buildings for Proposed Listing. The fieldwork record sheet is held by WYAAS. The record sheet describes Ibbotroyd House as a dwelling erected in the mid 19th century [no reference]. It is constructed of coursed rough faced stone with ashlar detailing. The roof is hipped and covered with blue slate. A feature of interest is the long stair window on the rear elevation. The plan is square [double pile]. The house is described as in a good state of preservation. (Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society. 1977). |
