TitleHare and Hounds, Lane Ends, Wadsworth
DescriptionHare and Hounds public house, Lane Ends, Wadsworth. Building erected in the mid 18th century with deeds dating back to 1650.

The Hare and Hounds public house was the subject of an archaeological assessment by the Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society c.1975 as part of the Joint Survey of Buildings for Proposed Listing. The fieldwork record sheet describes the building as dating to the mid 18th century but deeds held by the brewery go back to 1650. The range includes a public house, stable and barn. The walls are of squared rubble laid in a watershot construction with quoins at the angles. The roof is of stone slate with copings and kneelers on the gables. The windows are square with the exception of a Venetian window in the barn and an arrow window in the gable. All door openings are square with the exception of a keyed arch in the rear of the barn (now filled in). There is one internal gable stack and two ridge stacks. The plan is 'T' shaped.
The group also includes a built on malt house.
