TitleRock Exposure near Spa Baths, Boston Spa
DescriptionExamples of 250 million year old Magnesian Limestone formations, alongside the riverside footpath. The BSAHG suggest that this section gave rise to the original spring in the river bank below the spa bath site. To the east of limestone formations is an old eroded grotto.
The rock exposure is included on the Boston Spa Archaeology and Heritage Group's Heritage List which will be incorporated into the Boston Spa Parish Council's Neighbourhood Plan and identified for preservation.
