'House, probably early C18, altered early C19. Hammer dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. L shaped to north with 2 bays of 4 light flat faced mullioned windows to each floor. 3 light window to gable of left hand return wall. Right hand return wall has extruded stack with offsets and 2 light chamfered mullioned windows. Rear has 3 light and 4 light chamfered mullioned windows to 1st floor. Tall stack to ridge'.

Crabtree Fold was included in the Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society joint survey of buildings for proposed listing in 1977. The fieldwork record sheet is held by WYAAS (Calder Civic Trust and Hebden Bridge Local History Society. 1977). The report describes the date of erection as 17th century. |
