Title | 27 Woodthorpe Terrace, Huddersfield |
Description | Early 19th century house, constructed of ashlar with a hipped stone slate roof. Of two storeys. Features moulded eaves cornice, parapet with three balustraded sections on each side, and side elevations with continuous first floor sill bands and raised quoins. The front (south) has three ranges of sashes and a door with moulded panels in a Doric porch. East side has a door with two moulded panels, fanlight with glazing bars, and two Tuscan pilasters taking entablature. North (entrance) side has door with fielded panels, and side lights with glazing bars in surround with moulded cornice. Three ranges of sashes with glazing bars. (Text edited from English Heritage's National Heritage List of England, amended 1979) In 1986 Kirklees Historic Buildings Trust visited No. 27 in order to complete a Buildings at Risk Record Sheet. It was an external survey only, and the building's condition was deemed as 'Fair'. A couple of external photos of the house were also taken as part of this survey. |
