Title | Small Clues Pottery |
Description | Small Clue Pottery, reputedly buit by James Robinson in the early 19th century and situated north of Small Clues Farm between Bradshaw Lane and Roper Lane, north west of Halifax (Griffin 2012, p.300). The works were run by 'James Robinson and Co.' until W. Wade entered the partnership and it became 'Robinson and Wade'. Robinson died in 1861, his widow Rachel taking his place following his death (Lawrence 1974, p.189) The pottery was closed in the 1870s. The First Edition 6 inch to 1 mile mapping of 1854 shows the pottery with a number of clay pits shown nearby. |
