TitleHolbeck Moor Pottery
DescriptionHolbeck Moor was a small pottery with: a house. kiln, stable ,warehouse factory, 90ft chimney and other buildings on the site. It was situated north of Elland road in an area known as The Mint with Holbeck Moor Road to the south west and Creskell street on the south east (Griffin, 2012. p.245). Earthen ware, horticultural wares and chimney pots were produced there in the 19th century, however by the 20th this had been reduced to just horticultural wares (Lawrence. 1974. p.64 65). The site is marked on the 1908 6' to 1 mile OS map sheet 218 SE, but is not marked on earlier OS maps from 1854 and 1894. There are buildings indicating the potteries presence on these maps, however they are not marked as such. The site is now (2013) covered by warehouses (Bing. 2013)
