TitleHigh House
DescriptionThis site is partly robbed and mostly demolished but with good overall remains and some walls standing to c.2m in places.
During a site visit in 1999 a ground plan was recovered for a gritstone structure aligned north to south with some internal detail obscured by a large amount of rubble. There was a single cell room with a date of 1832 on a lintel at the extreme north of the range, this is quoined at the angles and straight joined into the barn to the south which is divided east to west into two cells with stone flagged floors. The living area to the south of the barn is divided into three cells with a fireplace in the north room on the east to west dividing wall. There was also a possible kitchen area with a cellar under which extends westwards from the south cell.
The buildings look early 19th century.
