TitleNo. 105, Water Lane, Round Foundry
DescriptionNo. 105 Water Lane, was built as a part of the Round Foundry Complex (PRN 9682), the 1st fully integrated engineering works. The building was originally used as an office and was constructed of white painted brick with a slate roof and is in the Italianate style. The eaves are deep bracketed and the roof is hipped on the corner, while a short brick stack was placed to ridge. The structure is a single storey with 4 round headed windows that face Water Lane, while another faces Foundry Street. An ornate datestone with the initials 'SBT' and date (1870) is placed in the entrance in the corner of the building, which in turn contains a 2 leaf door with a moulded brick surround.
The building is located on the site to the entrance to the Round Foundry Works and was built in the second phase of the foundry site when Smith, Beacock and Tannet owned the complex.
