Description | No. 101 Water Lane, was built as a part of the Round Foundry Complex (PRN 9682), the 1st fully integrated engineering works. It was built of brick with a slate roof and has a short ridge stack to the left and between the 5th and 6th windows. It is of 2 storeys with 7 1st floor windows all with 4 pane sashes and flat or cambered arch heads. The ground floor was rebuilt during the 20th century and has a full straight joint between windows 5 and 6, and a header arch to the right, underbuilt, with a slight change in building alignment to the right. The rear elevation contains a 9 pane sash in a flush frame with stone still and cambered stretcher arch. A blocked loading door and an altered 9 pane window lies above a clocked cart entrance that breaks forward slightly. A tall 2 storey addition contains 4 windows and is 1 room deep. This elevation is obscured by a lean to addition. (Text Edited from Listed Building Description) |
