DescriptionRow of 3 shops, with 1st floor accommodation, and a public house (No.36), all dating from the early 19th century.
The shops are built of dressed stone, with timber shop fronts and stone slate roofs. They are 2 storey buildings; the 1st floor has a 5 bay symmetrical façade with 4 paned sashed windows and triangular pediment carried over central 3 bays. No. 34 retains part of original shop front. Right hand return fronts Chapel Street has two 1st floor windows and is attached to former 3 storey warehouse.
The public house, meanwhile, is built of sandstone with a stone slate roof. It is also a 2 storey building and features a door, with monolithic jambs, to the left of four window with plain stone surrounds and timber cruciform glazing. The first floor has a 2 light window with single light either side, each with 2 paned sashes. Two brick stacks to ridge (rendered) (WYAS, 1993).
