The shops are built of dressed stone, with timber shop fronts and stone slate roofs. They are 2 storey buildings; the 1st floor has a 5 bay symmetrical façade with 4 paned sashed windows and triangular pediment carried over central 3 bays. No. 34 retains part of original shop front. Right hand return fronts Chapel Street has two 1st floor windows and is attached to former 3 storey warehouse. The public house, meanwhile, is built of sandstone with a stone slate roof. It is also a 2 storey building and features a door, with monolithic jambs, to the left of four window with plain stone surrounds and timber cruciform glazing.
