TitleFree Grammar School Plaque, Cook Street
DescriptionA plaque set within the wall of a building located on Cook Lane in Keighley city centre, dated 1713. The plaque is associated with the Free Grammar School which used to be situated in this area, but has been removed from its original building and relocated. The plaque commemorated the name of a man who endowed the school in the early 18th century. The plaque is very worn, and hard to read, but is inscribed: 'Belonging to The Free School of Keighley endowed by John D[...]?ke, Gentleman. 1713.'
