TitleNos. 14,16,18 and 20, Cottages off Chandler Lane
DescriptionNos. 14,16,18 and 20, are a terrace of weaver's houses constructed in the early to mid 19th century. They are built of hammer dressed stone with stone slate roofs and gable copings to left and right gables. Nos. 14 and 20 are built of 3 storeys, 16 and 18 have 2 storeys.
The south elevation comprises No. 20, which is 1 bay, with 2 light stone windows on all three floors and a ground floor entrance.
Nos. 18 and 16 were formerly a handed pair. Entrances were built to the left and right although that to No. 16 has been blocked. In both bays are 1 3 light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor and 5 light windows to the 1st, in both cases 1 light has been blocked. No. 18 has a lean to extension with a catslide roof while No. 16 also has an extension but is likely to have been added during the 20th century and in turn, was not recorded when it was listed.
No. 14 has an entrance and a 4 light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. The 1st floor has a 4 light window and 3 blocked windows. The 2nd floor contains a 6 light stone mullioned window with 3 lights having been blocked.
The north elevation contains various multiple light windows with some that have been blocked.
