Description | Row of six stone cottages, c.1822, built opposite ‘Turkey Mill’. The 2 storey, 1 bay cottages are built of coursed squared millstone grit, with stone slate roofs. The row is canted with the curving road. Each cottage has a 6 panel door in plain stone surround and a 3 light, flat faced mullion window in flush stone surround to each floor. No 12 has an additional single light window above door. Corniced stacks. These were mill workers' cottages. (Text edited from English Heritage’s LBO description) |
