Title | Council Offices on Cooke Street and Lawkholme Crescent |
Description | Council Offices (former School Board Offices), dated 1893 and designed by James Lechingham of Bradford. Built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles; ashlar coved gables with a gable and two wall stacks. Prominently sited next to the Town Hall with curved frontage at the junction of two roads (Lawkholme Crescent and Cavendish Street). Jacobean Revival style with transom windows, first floor oriel window, parapet, articulated façade with alternate projecting bays, crow stepped gables and finials. |
