TitleCurved Walls around Waggon
DescriptionThe site of 'Waggon' was visited in 1999 as part of the Pennine Settlement Survey.
The building itself had been demolished but a Cumbrian drystone wall which comprised mainly rough split gritstone blocks at the east, loosley piled and standing to a height of c.1m was located. The blocks partley serve as a retaining wall to the modern ground level within Waggon, and partly form an early sunken way leading to and from Great Greave to the south.
During the site visit in 1999 no datable architectural fragments were located.
