Description | This pair of houses dates to c.1830 40, and is built of sandstone ashlar with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a basement, and has a four bay symmetrical front. There is horizontal grooving to the ground floor with a platband over, and a plain frieze to the projecting eaves cornice. The building has revealed sashes, with the grooving struck in on the ground floor. The centrally grouped house doors flank a passage entry, with Tuscan pilasters and entablatures over all with a projecting cornice. The first floor windows above have architrave surrounds, which extend to enclose the shallow aprons below the sills. There are also area railings. |
