TitleRoman Coin, Pontefract
DescriptionStruck or hammered Roman silver denarius of Vespasian. Discovered by a metal detectorist about 01/01/2004. The obverse side of the coin has a Bust of Vespasian right, laureate and has the inscription [IMP] CAES VESP AVG P M CO[S IIII]. The reverse has a Simpulum, 'aspergillum', jug and lituus and the inscription AVGVR TRI POT. Minted in Rome.
